Ingredients:

  • 120ml of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 12g of breadcrumbs
  • Sandwich bread slices
  • 2 slices of ham
  • 120g of cheese
  • Ketchup (for added flavor)

Preparation:

  1. Prep the Bread Slices:
    • Begin by removing the crusts from the sandwich bread slices.
  2. Assemble the Sandwiches:
    • Take 6 pieces of bread and generously spread tomato sauce (ketchup) on one side of each slice.
    • Layer ham and cheese on top of three of the bread slices.
    • Place the remaining three slices of bread on top to form sandwiches.
  3. Dip in Egg Mixture:
    • In a separate bowl, beat the egg with the milk to create an egg mixture.
    • Carefully dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated on all sides.
  4. Coat with Breadcrumbs:
    • After dipping in the egg mixture, coat each sandwich with breadcrumbs, ensuring they adhere to the surface.
  5. Fry to Perfection:
    • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a touch of oil or butter.
    • Place each sandwich in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  6. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Once the Fried Toast is perfectly golden and the cheese is melty, remove them from the skillet.
    • Serve immediately while they’re hot and delicious.
